A question we have received a few times recently is "Will your product support V8?".  The short answer is yes, but not yet for all. For the long answer read the rest of this news article.

Will your products support v8 when it's launched?

No not immediately. Currently we are investigating what needs to be done to make our products compatible with V8. Besides CMSImport all of our products use the latest Umbraco best practices so we don't think that it will take too much time. Real development will start when Umbraco V8 final release is out so we can develop against locked API's and don't waste any time updating the codebase over and over again like we did in the past.

What about CMSImport?

The current version of CMSImport is still using the Webforms bridge in Umbraco v7. Currently we are working on V4 that is completely Angular based and will have a lot of extra features such as support for Grid, Nested and stacked content, better mapping of fields etc. More about that when we hit a final stage.

Will the product upgrades cost me any money?

Besides CMSImport all other products will get a minor version upgrade. Which means those upgrades are free. Also Domain licenses are forever free in upgrade so only server and unlimited licenses of CMSImport V4 will come with a small upgrade fee.
